After testing himself in the proving grounds of the courtroom, having been given the opportunity to practice in multiple areas in his previous law firm, Mr. Serrato developed a theory of representation that he wanted to provide to his clients. Having developed that vision, Mr. Serrato created Serrato Law and Associates, with the objective of creating a team of attorneys capable and willing to take their cases to trial. Having practiced in the courtroom over four years as an associate at his previous law firm, he recognized the shortage of trial capable attorneys, and the unfairness inherent in forcing individuals to seek competent representation in a state experiencing a dire shortage of competent trial ready attorneys, all while the hammer of justice readied it's gavel at their freedom.
Omar Serrato is the Managing Attorney at Serrato Law and Associates. He is a tenacious litigator who has made over 1,500 court appearances in the last four years.
Omar was previously an attorney at a midsized law firm in Claremont where he ran the Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Civil litigation departments. As a criminal defense attorney he represented clients during the investigation and prosecution of misdemeanor and felony allegations including DUI, battery, robbery, domestic violence, sexual assault, child molestation, and murder. As a civil litigator he represented clients bringing claims for breach of contract, securities fraud, elder abuse, battery, slander, defamation, professional malpractice, premises liability, negligence, elder abuse, interference with expected inheritance, and disputes over ownership of real property.
Mr. Serrato has extensive courtroom experience. He has tried multiple cases to verdict in Criminal, Civil, and Family law, including arguing multiple merits hearings in immigration courtrooms. He has been part of multi-million dollar law suits alleging securities fraud, written and argued hundreds of motions in the Criminal, Family, Immigration, Civil, and appellate arenas, and appeared personally in courtrooms from Bakersfield to San Diego California.
Omar graduated from the University of La Verne in May of 2013, where he was part of the Public Interest Law Foundation, and Criminal law Societies. While in Law School he interned with the San Bernardino District Attorney's Office as a student-intern and bar-certified clerk where he got his first introductions to the courtroom, arguing motions, and prosecuting preliminary hearings as a law student. He was part of the Trial Team that placed 3rd in the 2012 ABA Labor Law Mock Trial Competition.
